About Me

Clearly from my resume I am a graduate student at the University of Illinois in Computer Science. Furthermore, I'm in the numerical analysis/scientific computing research group. My area is in computational biology, where my current focus is biomolecular (or just molecular, pick your poison) simulation.

I don't believe in telling you (the reader) about my family or personal life so unless you want to come and talk to me in person you will have to go without such details. I will tell you I spent the first 15 years of my life in Pittsfield, Maine where I attended MCI as a freshman in high school. Then moved to Lexington, South Carolina where I completed my high school career. My college years, where I finally developed a personality, were spent in lovely Clemson SC, while not coincidently studying computer science at Clemson University. Which takes us to the present with me living in Champaign, IL, attending UIUC.

I also like beer, which I will talk to you at great length about. Not "bad" beer, but good beer with lots of interesting flavors and smells. Among my current favorites are Old Rasputin from North Coast brewing Company. Also the 90 Minute IPA from Dogfish Head. There are others as well, Victory Brewing Company, Three Floyds and New Belgium maker of Fat Tire among others. Though, I have very little Fat Tire since I live east of the Mississippi.

Note: I personally find it strange that of all my interests the one I choose to share is considered among some to be a vice. I guess I share it, because of all my vices it is my favorite or at least the one I put the most time into.

Finally, in the event I graduate and receive my PhD this will be my mathematical genealogy. This graphic was created by David Alber's geneagrapher, thanks David!
