Dr. Karel Matous is a Principal Research Scientist at the
Center for Simulation of Advanced
Rockets and Adjunct Assistant Professor in the
Department of Aerospace Engineering
at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. He received his Ph.D. in Theoretical and Applied
Mechanics from the Czech Technical University in Prague. His research
interests include multi-scale and multi-physics modeling of complex
systems, constitutive material modeling, micromechanics modeling of
inelastic and failure processes, and numerical methods in nonlinear
mechanics.
Dr. Fady Najjar is a Senior Research Scientist at the
Center for Simulation of Advanced
Rockets at the University of Illinois
at Urbana-Champaign. He received his Ph.D. in Mechanical
Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His
research interests are in direct numerical simulation and large-eddy
simulation of turbulent and multiphase fluid flows and in algorithm and
software development for high-performance parallel computing.
Dr. Michael T. Heath is
Professor and Fulton Watson Copp Chair in the
Department of Computer Science
at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign, where he is also Director of both
Computational Science and Engineering
and the Center for Simulation of
Advanced Rockets. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from
Stanford University. His research interests are in numerical
analysis, parallel computing, and computational simulation.
In 2000, he was named an
ACM Fellow by the Association for
Computing Machinery.
