TITLE: High-Level Software Architecture for Integrated Rocket Simulations
ABSTRACT
Numerical simulations of complex large-scale multiphysics systems, such
as the simulation of rockets, pose challenges in many areas, including
physical modeling, numerical and geometric computations, and software
environment. In this talk, we revisit some key software issues that
arose during the development and integration of CSAR's software suite,
Rocstar, to accommodate the demands of fast evolution of its
various physical, numerical, and middleware components. We focus
particularly on the Roccom software integration framework, the
framework service utilities, and the Rocman orchestration
framework. We review the rationale behind this high-level architecture
and summarize some key lessons and remaining challenges in meeting the
ultimate goals of rocket simulations.
