Dr. Michael T. Heath is Professor and Fulton Watson Copp Chair in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he is also Director of both Computational Science and Engineering and the Center for Simulation of Advanced Rockets. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Stanford University. His research interests are in numerical analysis, parallel computing, and computational simulation. In 2000, he was named an ACM Fellow by the Association for Computing Machinery.

Michael M. Wolf is one of Professor Heath's Ph.D. students in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His research interests are in scientific computing, combinatorial algorithms, and parallel computing. He is currently serving as president of the UIUC student SIAM chapter.
