CSE Option in Physics
CSE Option in Physics
The Department of Physics (PHYS) offers a CSE Option in the Ph.D. degree program. Students electing the CSE Option are expected to satisfy all regular requirements for graduate study in PHYS. A student will normally be able to satisfy the requirements for the CSE Option by taking elective courses within the PHYS graduate program.
Ph.D. Program
For the Ph.D. in PHYS with the CSE Option, the following additional requirements must be satisfied: two courses must be taken from CSE core courses, one of which must be CSE 401, plus one additional course must be taken from an approved list of computational courses in PHYS. The Ph.D. thesis must have a significant computational component, and the thesis committee must include at least one CSE-affiliated faculty member from a department other than PHYS.
